Brianna Whatley, DVM

Dr. Brianna Whatley is originally from Western Canada, where her enjoyment of riding (hunter/jumper) and working with horses began.

While completing her undergraduate degree in biology near Vancouver, Canada, Dr. Whatley
shadowed other equine veterinarians and specialists (surgery, internal medicine, and sports medicine) practicing in the Vancouver area. And while attending the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) in SK, Canada, she co-led Vet-a-Vision, a student-run, educational event in animal care and health held for the local community. She tailored her final clinical year at WCVM to equine-based rotations, pursing opportunities across North America. Dr. Whatley received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), with great distinction, in June of 2026, and began her rotating internship at PBEC shortly thereafter.

Dr. Whatley looks forward to continuing to advance her knowledge of equine medicine through her PBEC internship and to pursuing an equine surgical residency post internship.

When not attending to, studying, or thinking about horses, Dr. Whatley enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and mini-Aussie, Bluey, going on runs through the beautiful Wellington parks, and curling up with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa (yes, even in the heat of the Florida summer!).
